Having a baby is a wonderful experience but it can also be a very stressful time for the mother and father to be. As there as many things to remember before baby arrives here are some ideas to make those first few days at home a little less stressful.

With having to stay up and take care of a new baby it can be hard to remember to eat let alone eat something that is healthy. A week or two before the baby arrives make some quick and easy dinners to put in your freezer. This way you will have ready made meals when you come home from the hospital and you won't have to worry about what to cook for dinner.

Make lists of things you might forget to do after the baby has arrived. These helpful reminders will help a probably sleep deprived mind not forget important appointments and tasks.

A super idea for when you come home from the hospital is do not be afraid to ask for help. A nap or a soothing bath while a trusted friend or family member takes can of the new baby can do a world of wonders for a frazzled new mom. Ask someone to pick up a few groceries or a package of diapers for you if it would not be out of their way. Knowing that you cannot do it all and asking for help when you need it will do great things for your mental health.

These or any other great tips for new parents will not guarantee that you and your spouse will be well rested and on top of everything when you child is born. They will however help you become more relaxed and really enjoy the time you will have together right after you come home from the hospital.
